Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art whose central theme is the skill of controlling a resisting opponent in ways that force him to submit.
COVID Safe Classes
During these trying times we have created a social distant technical class using Grappling Dummies. These classes build proper muscle memory and core technical ability that will translate into real life battles.
Submission Grappling
The objective of Submission Grappling is to submit your opponent using a variety of joint locks and chokes, or to win the match by points. Competitions in this sport resemble Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions, although competitors do not usually wear gis.

Personal Growth
“Today’s world is flooded with participation trophies. In an attempt to promote equality we have robbed our youth of the most growth-inducing aspect of competition, failing. If you want to be resurrected, you have to first be crucified. Everybody wants to be reborn, but no one is willing to die. Losing, in the context of whatever arena it may be, is a microcosmic death. When we learn from our failures and grow because of them, we are reborn.”
― Chris Matakas, The Tao of Jiu Jitsu

Testimonials
“I used to think I couldn’t pull off tights until I started BJJ, now my rash guard game is epic”
“I started BJJ with Professor Buck with absolutely no prior experience and only a passing curiosity. After my first class here I knew I had stumbled on something special and life changing. Anthony and Gary’s instruction is stellar – detailed and patient for newcomers like me. After a couple years, I have not only gained a skill set and level of fitness, but a community of friends with my fellow students for which I am truly grateful. “
“Training jiu-jitsu is hard. I don’t do it cause it’s easy; I do it because it makes me a better person each day. If you are committed to personal growth, you won’t find a better place to do it. The instruction is phenomenal.”
